At 3 a.m. on January 3rd I was awoken by a massive BOOM.
My body filled with adrenaline as I jumped out of bed. I ran to my front dining-room to find a massive tree had fallen into my house.
I was in shock…
So many thoughts were running through my head and I didn’t know what to do.
“How will I keep my family safe with this giant hole in my house?”
“How much is this going to cost?”
I felt helpless and honestly a bit violated…
This was my family home and now it felt like a ruin.
After calming down a little bit my wife and I sat down and decided we needed to hire a contractor ASAP to fix our home.
We ended up hiring the first company that we called because they said they could start the next day.
Little did I know this would lead to the biggest nightmare of my life.
We paid a $15,000 down payment to the contractor and they started work.
Everything started out fine the first few days…
But as the days turned into weeks my anxiety started to rise.
It all started when the contractor would just disappear for days at a time with no contact at all.
Everytime we tried to call we were put on voicemail.
Finally they just stopped showing up altogether…
We were left with a large portion of the damage still unfixed and a hole in our house.
On top of that the $15,000 down payment disappeared with the contractor.
What does this have to do with pools?
The reason I tell you this story is because I want you to know that I know how it feels to be ripped off. It hurts and causes us to lose sleep.
